Good Vintage is vintage in good and usable display condition. However,
with silver tea and coffee pots, creamer and sugar bowls, trays, goblets,
bowls, dishes and cups, the word 'usable' does not define the interior of
these pieces as 'safe' for consuming food or liquids.
Restoring Tea Service
Silver, as well as Gold wash, Copper, Brass and Tin interiors should be
re-plated if worn thin and use is intended for food or drink. When a display
piece is upgraded to the status of a useable service piece, the intrinsic
value of the restored piece increases several times over.
Since It is difficult to find choice service pieces manufactured from the late 1800's to the early 1900's in excellent condition and affordable for average
buyers, re-plating and restoring one display piece at a time is an economical method of building a valuable collection and elevating a good collection status to a level of estate investment through the years.
Making Restoration Work for Your Budget
Many of our clients and customers purchase for display with this intent, to
have the items re-plated and restored for food use when their budgets allow,
thereby upgrading each item's status to that of estate investment level over
a period of time. . . Think of future value as a legacy for your grand children
and their children. Think of leaving each one of them an heirloom gift to
remember you always.
NOTE: To re-plate the interior surface of each vintage silver, copper, tin or
brass service piece we have cataloged in our inventory and attempt to
restore these fine old pieces to Vintage Mint Condition, would push the
retail prices of these vintage items way beyond the reach of the average family budget. This is not our business premise, for we wish to introduce
the vintage history and legacy experience, and then share the joy of each
person's vintage heirloom stewardship.
