Cleaning
- Moisten a cotton swab tip in alcohol
- Hold jewelry piece upside down
- Gently dab over entire surface
- Lay piece upside down on a towel to absorb moisture for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Plug in a hair dryer and use a gentle warm air cycle to thoroughly blow dry.
- If jewelry needs additional cleaning, simply repeat cleaning treatment.
IMPORTANT:
NEVER immerse vintage jewelry in soap and water to clean.
Rust and mildew can be a real problem on some of the metal composites used in early 1900
manufacturing. A soft sable brush may be used to clean grooves and filigree metal cutwork.
Repairing
Please remember that vintage is old. Vintage has been passed down and often
worn over several generations. Treat your vintage pieces gently, but do not
panic if a clasp breaks or a stone falls out of a setting. All vintage
jewelry purchased from Gifts From Days Gone Bye may be returned for "first
aid" when minor repairs or stone replacements are needed. No fee is charged
for this small repair courtesy service.
